About Lucha: A Wrestling Tale

Lucha: A Wrestling Tale, follows the story of 4 high school girls in the south Bronx on their schools first ever all girls wrestling team. Winner of multiple awards at film festivals across the country, perhaps Lucha’s biggest impact to date is saving the very high school program, The Taft Golden Eagles, from the chopping block. After Covid, due to low numbers, a program on the rise was now on the brink. The release of the documentary got the program reinstated, with over 2 dozen girls joining the team this year. Lucha, the film, will certainly continue to make an impact for years to come.
